Mr. Sterling McKinley Steppe Sr.

Sterling McKinley Steppe (Thompson), Sr. 64 of Crozet, Virginia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Born June 17, 1945 in Albemarle County, Virginia, he was the son of Mary Bell Steppe and the late Nathaniel Steppe. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Thompson. He is survived by a daughter Lisa Cornelius and her husband David of Stony Point; three sons Sterling M. Steppe, Jr. of Scottsville, Virginia, Rodney Steppe of Richmond, Virginia and Steven Steppe of Crozet, Virginia; a step-daughter LeShanna Christian of Charlottesville, Virginia; a loving companion of 23 years, Valerie Turner; three sisters Barbara Ann Steppe of Louisa, Virginia, Helen Dent of Charlottesville, Virginia and Mary Linda Steppe of Charlottesville, Virginia; three brothers Lewis Steppe of Crozet, Virginia, Sherwood Thompson of North Carolina and MacArthur Thompson of Charlottesville, Virginia; a granddaughter Nyssa Cornelius and three step grandchildren Kahron, Maaliyah and Indyah.
