Steve Bauer

Steve Bauer, age 74, of LaGrange Highlands, IL, formerly of Racine, WI, passed away on January 10, 2026. Beloved husband of Lynn Bauer (Gergen). Loving father of Lisa (Neil) Weir, Lori (Eugene) Aiello, and Sarah (Matthew) Murray. Devoted grandfather of Kaitlyn and Megan Weir; Maggie, Kelly, and Abby Aiello; and Miles and Monty Murray. Dear brother of Sue (Craig) Wyler, and fond uncle of many. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elaine Bauer, and two brothers Mickey and Francis.

Steve was a longtime florist, owning a shop in Racine, WI with his wife, Lynn. His love of the floral business brought the family to Illinois, where his artistic talents and his love of connecting with people combined. He will be remembered by many for his love of making occasions special and beautiful.

Steve's passion, dedication, and sense of humor was felt in everything he did. Along with spending time with his loving family, he enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and brewing his own beer. He had an ingenuity for craftsmanship and home projects, and could build or fix anything he put his mind to. His love of nature and visiting National Parks has created meaningful traditions for his family. Beloved Husband, Father, Uncle, and Grandpa, Steve will be deeply missed and remembered dearly.
