Steve Charron

Long time Palmer resident Steven Wayne Charron, 71, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026.

Steve was born on July 29, 1954, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Joe and Vi Charron. He was a faithful servant of God who lived a life marked by love, humility, and prayer. He touched many lives through his kindness and quiet strength. Though his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in God's promise of eternal life and celebrate a life devoted to family, faith, and service to others.

Steve made Alaska his home beginning in Anchorage, before moving to the Butte in 1978, where he continued to build his life and community. He worked faithfully as a pipe fitter and plumber, providing for his family through years of dedicated service. He was known for his untiring commitment to helping many with plumbing issues charging them minimally and often nothing. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing and camping with his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Elwen Charron; his children Jennifer Faller, Melanie Charron, Katie Charron, Christian Naya, and Clarence Naya; and his siblings Penny and Mike Youngs, Stan and Marie Charron, Ann and Ken Bohnert, Joe and Cindy Charron, John and Kathy Charron, and Jim Charron. He is also lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Charron and Vi Charron.

A celebration of life was held on January 9, at the Palmer Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiated by Pastor Ryan Rogers.
