Steve Herbert Clark, a devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, to join his Lord and Savior. Born on May 23, 1947, Steve leaves behind a legacy of love and faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Hasell Clark and Nell Verlene Clark; and one sister, Hilda Bailey.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia Jean Hampton Clark, and their children: Melissa Clark Hartley (Kirk Hartley), Shannon Clark Franklin (Marty Franklin), and Steven Clark (Jodie Clark). He was cherished by his five grandchildren: Jennifer Crisp (Martin Crisp), Jamie Travis (Jeremy Travis), Samantha Borders (Charles Borders), Taylor Franklin (Matthew Winget), and Jonathan Clark (Ashley Fowler); eight great-grandchildren; and his two best friends, Emmitt Penley and Dennis McCall.
Known for his passion for the outdoors, Steve was an avid fisherman and hunter who found joy in the woods. He dedicated over two decades as the proud owner of Hartland Electric, leaving a mark on his community.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Hartland Baptist Church. In honoring his memory, let us remember his unwavering faith, love for family, and friends. Steve will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
