Funeral services for Steve Davis, 70, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 7, 2024 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Wade Coker and Rev. Mike Holloway. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in West Monroe, LA
Steve was born on December 22, 1953 in Monroe, LA., and passed away on October 4, 2024 in West Monroe, LA. Steve was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Steve was a retired Captain and K-9 officer with the West Monroe Police Department. Steve’s four great loves were: first, Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior; second, his family and friends; third, his law enforcement family; and fourth, deer hunting (which could be tied with second and third loves.) Steve is preceded in death by his father Norman Davis, mother, Livvie Lane Davis, grandparents, Sidney and Leola Bonnet, brother, Bruce Davis, brother-in-law Micheal McCall.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Coker Davis; son, Jonathan Heath Davis and wife Amy Davis; grandchildren, Liam Davis, Tristan Davis, and Christine Dulaney; sister, Irma Lane McCall; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jed McCall, Drew Coker, Nathan Coker, Tony Coker, John Rutledge, Billy Puckett, and Joey Franks. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Harper, Larry LaBorde, Stan Hayden, David Williams, Gerald Flannigan, and Larry Smith.
Memorials may be made to National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke or to the charity of your choice.
Special thanks to the Landmark Staff and Rehab department, his roommate, Elvin and friends Marie and Ruth for the love and support they gave Steve daily.
