Working between San Antonio & Del Rio allowed me to have many radio conversations with Steve DeLeon ("Y" order or Form B) getting his O.K. to pass through his work limits. Steve and his gangs worked hard to keep the railroad in good shape to handle the many tons of freight crossing it everyday. He was always professional and was a pleasure to work with. He did it the Right (of) Way. Rest Easy, Brother Steve

MaryJane and I want to offer our deepest condolences and prayers of sympathy to all of the family DeLeon and the numerous friends that our dear Steve touched throughout his railroad career and personal acquaintances! Steve was a magnet that drew many to him wherever he journeyed in life! From the first day of meeting Steve at Houston´s Southern Pacific Railway facility, "Engelwood Yard"! The rest was history, and Steve´s passion was to succeed and raise a strong and proud family! I was always so proud of his successes and endeavors!
Steve will be extremely missed, but never will he be forgotten!

My memories of knowing Steve, go back over 45 years, in the late 1970´s, @Southern Pacific´s Engelwood Yard. A continuous friendship that will last forever. His personality was like a magnet to all who knew, worked and socialized with this gift from God!
MaryJane & I Give Our Deepest Condolences and much needed Prayers of Sympathy to all of the DeLeon Family, especially his most beloved kids, Cora, Amanda and Steve Austin"
