Steve "Pista" Erdos, Sr. October 25, 1939 - November 19, 2025 Kalamazoo, Michigan Steve "Pista" Erdos, born October 25, 1939 in Papa, Hungary, to Eugene and Juliannna (Masterhazy) Erdos passed away November 19, 2025. Steve came to America in 1956-57, during the Hungarian revolution. Once arriving in America, he met fellow Hungarians, Laszlo and Larradine Csiszar, with whom he lived with until he met and married Diann Hastings. They soon expanded their family when they welcomed Phillip in July of 1964 and Steve in November of 1965.

Steve became a Naturalized Citizen on June 10, 1986. He was also accepted by the Kalamazoo area Secretary of State as an interpreter for Hungarian speaking applicants on October 20, 1987. Steve worked for several years at Peterson Springs in Kalamazoo, retiring in 1991. Steve had a passion for gardening, both food and flowers. He loved cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Steve and Diann went their separate ways in 1993 and Steve returned to his beloved Hungary until August of 2001. Steve was welcomed back by his family and friends. Steve was able to enjoy many more years in the Kalamazoo area, spending time with his children and friends.

Steve is survived by his sons Phillip (Barb) and Steve Jr., his grandchildren Brittani, Dakota, Noah, and Sage Erdos and his great granddaughter, Camila Gonzalez, sister in law Juanita (Cis) Erdos, and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Jeno and Julianna Erdos, brother Eugene Erdos, sister Magda Grosz. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a luncheon will be held at a later time.
