Mr. Steve (Steven Carl) Goode, age 72 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Angelia Griffin Goode of the home, his two children, Amber Proctor McMurry (Michael) of Shelby, NC, and Andy Lee Goode (Brandi) of Boiling Springs, NC, five grandchildren, Jesse Scruggs, Paisley Proctor, Parker Proctor, Jake Goode, and Madelyn McMurry, a mother-in-law, Nancy Anthony Poston of Boiling Springs, NC, a sister, Sandy Alexander (Ronnie) of Mooresboro, NC, and a niece, Christy Ayers (Chris) of Mooresboro, NC.
Born July 17, 1950, in Cleveland County, NC, Steve was the son of the late Carl Goode and Velma Street Goode. Steve graduated from Crest High School in 1968. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war, serving thirteen months as a tank operator. Steve was a faithful member and deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He worked in various industrial constructions where he retired in 2015. He enjoyed being outside, cutting grass, going to several sporting events, and spending time with his family and friends. His favorite job was being a Pappy to his grandchildren. Steve loved his canine companions, Peanut and Arlo. Steve will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Mooresboro. A visitation will be held from 3:00pm – 4:00pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was my grandfather my first memory was when he would always stay with me when I had surgery I don´t really remember but I have a lot of memories of him he was my favorite person in the world.

Roger and I are so sorry to hear of Steve´s passing. We went to school with Steve at Boiling Springs and then graduated with him at Crest. Steve was very kind and very friendly. Our prayers are with you all. Roger and Janet McSwain.
