Steve Dwight Heil

Mr. Stephen Dwight Heil, age 65, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father Friday, June 20, 2025. Mr. Heil was born October 12, 1959, in Louisville Kentucky, to Charles and Patricia "Loucks" Heil. Steve was a big fan of horse racing. He also loved line dancing; this was a hobby he enjoyed for many years. Steve was a loving father and grandfather to his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Among those who preceded him in death are his grandchildren, Emma and Andrew; father, Charles Heil; sister, Wendy Breitenstein; and brother-in-law, Dave Vanmetre. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Shannon Beauerle (Chad) and Cassie O'Daniel (Jason); grandchildren, Abigail, William, Claire, Caden, Landon and Grayson; mother, Patricia "Loucks" Heil; siblings, Chuc Heil (Mary Catherine), Julie Vanmetre and April Castle (Robert); numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (123 Winning Colors Drive, Mt. Washington, Kentucky.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Steve's grandson, Caden O'Daniel.
