Steve Karstetter, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 82. He was Born on September 27, 1942, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to Robert and Vivian Brussard Karstetter, Steve's early years in Clarksburg shaped a life full of love, resilience, and dedication.
After graduating from Victory High School and honorably serving his country in the Army, Steve embarked on a diverse and fulfilling career path. He channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into founding Pyramid Carpet Cleaning, a venture that showcased his dedication and hard work. Steve's career journey also led him to become a union bridge painter and sandblaster, where his resilience and strength were further exemplified. Ultimately, Steve found a long-term professional home with the Continental Office Group, where he was respected and admired by colleagues and clients alike until his retirement.
Steve's heart was always fullest when surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Jeanne Karstetter, and their children: Robert (Cara) Karstetter and Scott (Jodi) Karstetter. From a previous marriage, he was also the proud father of Annette Kearns and Darla Karstetter. Steve was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Dylan, AJ, Sarah, Grant, Kelly, Ronnie, and Trisha. His greatest joy was watching them engage in their various interests, whether it be soccer, football, basketball, dancing, or any other activity they were passionate about.
Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Edwards, and his brother, Richard Karstetter, whose memories continue to live in the hearts of those who knew them.
A man of many interests, Steve was particularly passionate about antique film cameras and photography. Renowned for his knowledge of the subject, he often found joy in selling, repairing, and collecting these treasures, and he loved sharing his passion with others.
Steve's legacy is one of unwavering love, service, and dedication to his family. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will forever live on through the memories shared and the lives he touched.
In keeping with Steve's giving nature, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Steve Karstetter's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, service, and community. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
