Steve McPherson, 82, of Burlington, NC passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 6, 2025 following three months of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the loving husband of Paulette Coble McPherson, who survives and the son of Homer Dean McPherson and Frances Homewood McPherson, both deceased. He was a Southern Alamance High School graduate. Steve was the owner and operator for 45 years of McPherson's Septic Tank Cleaning. He was a member of Bellemont Methodist Church. He always enjoyed spending time with family functions and friends. He was a devoted father to our sons and loving PaPaw to our granddaughter. His family was his life. He loved working on the farm and taking care of the livestock and tending the hay fields. Steve had an outgoing personality and enjoyed talking to anyone who crossed his path. He especially liked spending time with classmates and friends taking food or just visiting with them. He could always get a smile on their face and lift their spirits or assist in other ways.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include a son, Dean McPherson of Burlington; granddaughter, Amber McPherson of Burlington; and sister, Judy M. Neese. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Derick McPherson.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bellemont Methodist Church on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Richard Booker and Rev. Steve Loy. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Donations can be made to Bellemont Methodist Church Building Fund or the Food Pantry or to a charity of your choice.
