Steve Michael Moore
June 22, 1959 – March 9,2026
Steve Michael Moore, born June 22, 1959, a devoted son, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 9, 2026. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Marie Moore and Jess and Nell Coppinger; his father, Steve F. Moore; his sister, Vicki Reed; and his wife, Virginia McNabb.
He is survived by his mother, Jerry L. Coppinger Moore. Mike attended Marion County High School and worked at Wheland Foundry. He enjoyed watching football, hunting, fishing, and playing pool. Though he had a gruff exterior, he possessed a kind heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. "Carry me home when it’s time to lay down my soul, Lord, for I know I’ll be in a better place. Carry me home where no sorrow is there; When the Lord carries me home, don’t weep, for I am freedom bound. Quietly I’m carried the day my bones are laid to rest, For there is peace within the light that I found. God released my soul and carried me home."
The family had a private Graveside service on March 11, 2026 with Roger Webb officiating.
