Steve Barton Moton "Motown" was born March 4, 1955 in Flint, Michigan at Hurley Hospital. He was born to the union of Elaine Moton and James Todd, Jr. Steve was called to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022 at his residence.
Steve attended Flint community schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School Class of 1973, where he enjoyed being part of the Track Team. Steve relocated to Hampton, Virginia in 1987. He was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding for 30 year of service, retiring in 2020. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 8888. He meet the late Deborah Stallings in 1957 to this union one son was born. In 1986, Steve married Debra Raglon and to this union one daughter was born. In 1992, Steve married Suzane Greenidge in Hampton, Virginia. Steve accepted Christ at a young age. He was a current member of Bethel Church of Hampton, Virginia and a past member of Victory Life of Hampton, Virginia. One thing everyone knew about Steve he loved his family and friends. He loved to shoot the breeze with family, friends, and strangers alike; leaving many laughs and epic stories that became more elaborate with each re-telling. Additionally he was fond of going to the movies, going out to eat, watching the history channel, and sports on TV. His outgoing personality will truly be missed. Last but not least, he was a Detroit Lion's fan.
Steve leaves to cherish his memory: one son Altura "Andre" Stallings of Flint, Michigan; one daughter Diondra (Rashaad) Brown of Hampton, Virginia. Two sisters; Alva Todd of Norfolk, Virginia and Felicia West of Flint, Michigan. Five brothers; Anthony "Tony" Moton of Columbus, Ohio; James (Debra) Todd III of Flint Township, Michigan; Joseph (Lawanda) Todd of Niles, Michigan, Christopher (Jennifer) Todd of Panama City, Florida; and Corey (Brooke) Garrett of Atlanta, Georgia. Seven grandchildren; Nakaiyah, Makalah, Aniyah, Edrece, Jaylon, Aaliyah, Ezekiel, and four great grandchildren. Steve leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother; Elaine Battles and step-father Amos Battle; father James Todd Jr; brother, William Todd, sister, Lisa Green, and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.
