Steve Lamar Propst

Steve Lamar Propst, 76, of Dallas, entered into his heavenly home on October 24, 2025. He was born February 10, 1949, in Gaston County, to the late Clyde Propst and Virginia Burton Propst.

He is preceded in death by brother, Mike Propst; sisters, Nancy Teague, JoAnn Rayfield; and sister-in-law, Pat Propst.

Steve was a lifelong member of Hardin Community Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as caretaker of the Hardin Community Baptist Church Cemetery for many years. He retired from Freightliner after 27 years of dedicated service, during which he held various positions. Steve enjoyed whittling, spending time in the mountains, camping, and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Kathy Propst; children, Jeannie Worley, Billy Secrest and wife Bonnie, Stephen Secrest and wife Leslie, Amy Woolwine; brothers, Carroll Propst and wife Ann, John Propst, Keith Propst and wife Maxine; brothers-in-law, Carroll Teague, William Rayfield; grandchildren, Aaron Worley, Matthew Secrest, Alex Secrest, Andrew Secrest, Kaleigh Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Hardin Community Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Steve's celebration of life service will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Hardin Community Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Driver officiating.

Interment will follow at Hardin Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
