Steven Sheridan Obituary

FRANKLIN - Steven Paul Sheridan Jr., 44, passed away at home Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Steve was born Jan. 19, 1982, at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, to Steven Paul Sheridan Sr. and Lisa Marie Jones. From an early age, he carried a steady determination, a generous heart and a quick wit that could brighten even the hardest days.
He attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, where he formed lifelong friendships and proudly became a member of Theta Xi. His natural leadership, strong work ethic and ability to connect with people shaped both his career and the deep relationships he built throughout his life.
On Oct. 4, 2008, Steve married the love of his life, Christina Ann Clark Sheridan. Together they built a life rooted in faith, laughter and devotion. Of all his roles, the one he cherished most was being a father. Olivia Elaine and Vivian Marie were his greatest joy, and he beamed with pride whenever he spoke about his girls.
Steve dedicated many years to Cullasaja Country Club, where he earned the respect of members and staff not only for his professionalism and leadership but for his humor and steady encouragement.
He was actively involved in the Club Management Association of America (CMAA), Platea Hospitality Club (PHC) and made a lasting impact at Cullasaja Country Club. He believed in leading by example and lifting others up along the way.
Even in his battle with cancer, Steve remained a light to those around him. His outlook could be summed up in the phrases he often shared, "positivity plus one" and "find your glimmer." No matter the circumstance, he chose to add just a little more hope, a little more gratitude and a little more strength. He faced each day with courage and unshakable faith, often cracking a dad joke or offering reassurance to others when they were trying to comfort him. His resilience was inspiring, and his optimism never wavered.
His faith was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Steve served as a church elder and lived his beliefs daily through kindness, humility and steadfast love.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Steven Paul Sheridan Sr., and maternal grandfather, James Forest Rodes Sr.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; treasured daughters, Olivia Elaine and Vivian Marie; sister, Stephanie Ann Hopper; mother, Lisa Marie Jones; Ron Joe Jones, who lovingly stood beside him as a father; maternal grandmother, Betty Lou Rodes; and many extended family members, dear friends, colleagues and church family who will forever carry his legacy forward.
A service celebrating Steve's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Pastor John Brunner will be officiating. Arrangements are by Macon Funeral Home.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Barry Kaplan of Frye Regional Hospital, Duke University Hospital, Duke Cancer Center Brain Tumor Clinic, Messino Cancer Center, Four Seasons Hospice, Resurrection Lutheran Church and the staff and members of Cullasaja Country Club and Wildcat Cliffs Country Club for their compassion, care and unwavering support.
Though his time here was far too short, Steve lived fully, loved deeply, laughed often and fought bravely. His spirit will continue to shine in the lives he touched.
Positivity Plus One – always.
