Steve was a high school friend. We took us camping with us to our 800+ acres of wooded area in Indiana which led to an event the would change his life. One night, while camping, a dog approached us as we sat near the fire. The dog was suffering. The dog was covered with "cattle tics". Steve spent all night removing the cattle tics and comforting the dog. I think that night he decided to later become an Animal Doctor/Vet. Also, during one of our stays in our camping, he showed his religious dedication during the Easter Weekend. We had gone to sleep the night before Easter and it was beautiful weather. When we woke up in the morning, there was SNOW on the ground and it was cold. We walked down the hill to the car, changed in the car, and then drove him several miles so he could attend Mass. I was also impressed by how much German he knew being self-taught. He was a good man and will be missed!
