It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Joe Baker, of Kiefer, Oklahoma, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud veteran. Steven passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on October 16, 1946, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Clifford and Katherine Baker, Steven was a man whose life was defined by service, love, and an enduring sense of curiosity. He served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy, stationed aboard a Naval aircraft carrier. His time in the Navy instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty and pride.

Following his military service, Steven built a career as a salesman in the construction industry, where his integrity and charm made him both successful and well-respected. But beyond his professional accomplishments, Steven found his true fulfillment in the love of his family and the simple joys of life.

He was blessed to share his life with Glenda, his beloved wife and best friend. Together, they created a lifetime of memories, whether antiquing, attending gun shows, or simply enjoying the company of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Steven's passion for music shone brightly in the way he played his guitar and sang, often filling his home with melodies that will now echo in the hearts of his loved ones.

Steven's hobbies reflected his deep appreciation for history and craftsmanship. He was an avid collector of Native American artifacts, firearms, knives, and antiques, each piece a testament to his keen eye and love of music.

Steven's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, kindness, and devotion endures. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Katherine Baker; his sister, Doris; and his son-in-law, Richard Greenfeather.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Glenda Baker; his daughters, Renae Cole, Debbie Greenfeather, Heather Martin (husband Chad), and Melissa Evraets (husband Jon); and his treasured grandchildren: Ashley Greenfeather (wife Jennifer Locy), Eric Greenfeather (wife Lauren), Jacob Evraets (wife Mary), Caitlin Cooprider, Ashton Cooprider, and Nicholas Cole. Steven's great-grandchildren-Miles Greenfeather, Cadence Greenfeather-Locy, Callie Greenfeather-Locy, and Thea Greenfeather-will grow up hearing the stories of his remarkable life.

The family has chosen not to hold a formal gathering or service at this time. However, they warmly welcome visitors to their home to share memories, offer condolences, and celebrate Steven's life in a personal and meaningful way.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St., Glenpool, OK 74033. Family and friends are invited to share messages of comfort and cherished memories at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
