Steven J. Banman

STEVEN J. BANMAN Steven J. Banman, 66, of Goessel, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 15, 1959, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to James and Mary (Dunn) Banman. He graduated from Bethel College with a bachelor's degree in business and later from Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. Steven was united in marriage to Sandra "Sandy" Hiebert on June 2, 1984, at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. Steven worked as a graphic designer for Pioneer Balloon Company in Wichita for over 30 years. He was on the Mennonite Heritage and Agricultural Museum board for many years, also serving as president for 8 years. Steven loved western history and sports, especially the Denver Broncos, the Kansas City Royals, and IndyCar racing. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandy Banman of Goessel; daughter, Allison (Albino) Quinones of Austin, Texas; son, Craig Banman of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Albino "Albi" and Aurelia "Aurie" Quinones; and sisters, Susan (Riccardo) Sileci Banman of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Christine Banman (Polly Schattel) of Asheville, NC. Steven was preceded in death by his father, James Banman, and stepmother Judith Coover; mother, Mary Banman; and brother-in-law, Myron Hiebert. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Goessel. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Family will greet friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.
