Steven Benson Obituary

Steven A. Benson, age 57, of Nevada, passed away at home unexpectedly on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Steve was born on January 11, 1968, in Marion, Ohio, to Steven and Nancy A. (Dodson) Benson. Steve married Kimberly Straka on October 26, 2002 at Lake Galion, and she survives.

Steve is also survived by his son, Chase (Gabriella Bigham) Benson of Galion, Ohio, brother Daniel (Erica) Karcher of Marysville, and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Steven Benson, mother Nancy Karcher, stepfather Danny Karcher, and brother Troy Benson.

Steve graduated from Wynford High School Pioneer in 1986 and went on to work at Continental Hose in Upper Sandusky for many years, which is where he met Kim. He most recently worked for Bridgestone in Upper Sandusky.

Steve loved taking his Harley out to ride with Kim - that was their escape. Steve enjoyed heavy metal music, and going to concerts. He also enjoyed trying new restaurants. Steve loved spending time with his family and friends most of all, and he was always there when you needed him.

A memorial service for Steve Benson will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Rorke Warne. Visitations will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Monday, prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, or to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
