Steven Lewis Bowles, 61, passed away October 17, 2025, of complications from myeloma. He was born May 16, 1964, in Toledo, Ohio, to Berwyn Lewis and Jean Lund Bowles.
Steve was a graduate of DeVry University in Addison, Illinois. He worked for many years as a medical technician. He married the love of his life, Melva Pearce (Ahang) in June 2001. They moved to Australia in 2005 before returning to the United States in 2022. He loved traveling, his favorite destination being Hawaii, and loved all things sports, always catching a good baseball game whenever he could. He also loved spending time with his family, and was “Poppa” to his wife’s grandchildren, with whom he always had a special bond.
He was preceded in death by his father, Berwyn Lewis Bowles; aunts, Shirley Stutz, Sharon Cameron, and Carol Lund; and two first cousins, Cynthia Elliott and Gregory Axlen.
He is survived by his wife, Melva of Phoenix, AZ; mother, Jean of Everett, WA; stepchildren, Clinton Pearce and Lauren (David) Mews, and step-grandchildren, Mitchell and Patrick Mews, Roman Pearce, all of South Australia; brother, Gordon (Laura) of Everett, WA; nephew, Samuel of Bellingham, WA, and niece, Abigail of Everett, WA; uncle, Gerald Lund of Milan, MI; sister-in-law, Linda Abbey and her grandson, Logan of Phoenix, AZ; first cousins, George (Mary Louise) Stutz of Northbrook, IL, Wesley (Linda) Axlen of Snohomish, WA, Claudia (John) Hansen of CleElum, WA, Robert (Stacy) Stutz of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Mary (Michael) Kastler of Mill Creek, WA; and the many children and grandchildren of his cousins, as well as several friends.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
