Steven Boyer

Steven Wayne Boyer passed away on October 7, 2022, following a long illness.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Diane, his son Ryan, and sisters, Sandy Moraski and Vicki Laud. He was preceded in death by his parents. Steve was born in Moline, IL, on December 17, 1960, to Harold and Barbara (Van Sickle) Boyer.
Steve graduated from UTHS in 1979 and followed his passion for radio and television broadcasting. His career began at WOC-TV, where he worked as a news/sports photographer. During that time he also began working overnights as a radio DJ at KSTT and later at KIIK-104.
On May 25, 1985, he married Diane Norton in Davenport, IA. In February of 1986, the couple moved to Green Bay, WI, where Steve furthered his career at WLUK-TV as a sports photographer and reporter. On October 25, 1989, they welcomed their son Ryan into the world. Shortly after they moved to Milwaukee, he began working at WITI-TV as a sports editor and fill-in sports anchor.
For the next 26 years, the family made their home in Hartford, WI, as Steve transitioned to a new career with various regional car dealerships in roles from sales to management.
In 2018, he fulfilled a long time dream by moving to Nashville, TN, and enjoyed exploring the city, as well as no longer shoveling Wisconsin snow. As many relatives, friends and co-workers appreciate, Steve could surprise you by remembering the most obscure details, a skill which enhanced many guests' visits to Music City.
Although he was generally a man of few words, everyone who knew him will agree that he had a great sense of humor and a quick wit with impeccable timing. He passed his love and knowledge of sports on to Ryan, and the two of them took many summer trips together visiting minor league baseball fields throughout the country. Those father/son trips were one of the highlights of his life.
He will be missed and remembered by all of us whose lives he enhanced.
A celebration of life in the Milwaukee area is being planned for a future date.
