Steven Mathew Brown

Steven Mathew Brown passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1975, to parents Ray and
Marilyn (Gawne) Brown of North Branch, MI. Steve grew up in North Branch, where he met his wife and many loved ones at his family's restaurant. He graduated from UM-Flint and later moved to St. Augustine, FL with his family.
Steve was a loving and supportive husband, father, son, friend, and leader. His encouragement to everyone around him will be everlasting. Steve loved Michigan Football, the Lions, camping, cooking, trucks, and theme parks. He was someone who always had a joke, as well as wise words. Steve joyfully coached many of his sons' youth sports teams and was their biggest fan in life. He also joyfully served as an elder at Grace Lutheran.
Steve fiercely loved his family. He is survived by his wife Janelle (Peel); sons, Jace, Colten, and Lance; parents, Ray and Marilyn Brown, parents' in-law Joe and Pam Peel; siblings, Mary (Brown) Lake, Margaret (Brown) Edgette, Kevan Brown, sibling's in-law, Brad and Michelle (Curell) Peel, Adam Peel. Nieces and nephews, Kole and Alex (Lake) Gross, Braden Lake, Emily Lake, Tyler Edgette, John Edgette, Nevaeh Peel, Cash Peel, Mason Peel, and Remi Peel. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Carlis and Grace (Davis) Brown, Douglas and Helen (Frisch) Gawne, and
nephew Memphis Peel. Steve's funeral will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 12200 McCormick Rd. in Jacksonville, FL on Friday, November 7 th at 10:00 am. Light refreshments will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
