Steven Thomas Butcher, age 69, of Bloomingburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at his home.
He was born on February 5, 1956 in New Holland, Ohio to the late Isaac and Viola (Sanderson) Butcher. He attended Miami Trace High School. Steven was a retired mechanic. He attended the Washington Avenue House of Prayer. He enjoyed playing the guitar, golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Webb) Butcher; his son, Trent Butcher; and brothers, Larry Butcher, and Terry Butcher.
Survivors include his children, Randa Acton, Stephanie (Richard) Dean, and Derek (Ashley) Butcher; grandchildren, Christopher Acton, Kyle (Lorin) Acton, Kyra (Skyler) Acton, Brett (Jenn) Butcher, Seth (Brittney) Butcher, Jeremy (Kelsey) South, Edward (Cheyanne) South, Jayden Butcher, and Myrissa Butcher; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Butcher officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery.
