A life well lived. The family of Steven R. Collins is deeply saddened to announce his passing on February 3, 2026 in the comfort of his beloved family. Born in Springfield on June 18,1952 to the late George and Elizabeth (Abrams) Collins. He spent his youth and was educated in Agawam where he remained a lifelong resident. His story began as a young boy growing up in a loving family where he developed a strong work ethic. Steven was blessed with exceptional mechanical skills and a love for tractors. Starting his career at Chriscola's Farm Equipment in Agawam, MA grew his appreciation for agricultural equipment. Later he used his expertise as a self-employed mechanic working at local farms and spending the majority of his time at the Eastern States Exposition grounds. Steven also took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather. He was a warm, strong, and steady presence, always there to lend a hand, give kind advice and to pass on important life skills. He was a member of the International Harvester Collector's Club. He was also on the board the Agawam Center Cemetery. Steven looked forward to his trips to Pennsylvania, especially the Amish Country. His monthly dinners with his close knit friends were most enjoyable for Steven. Above all Steven treasured a simple life being surrounded by family and showering them with his love and care. He was fiercely loyal and devoted to those in his life. He will be greatly missed.
Steven was predeceased by his older brother, John Collins. Surviving Steven are his beloved children, Jennifer Collins and Kevin Collins and his wife Andrea. To cherish his memory, he leaves his adored grandchildren Saffron, Carl, Jamison, and Abigail. He will be greatly missed by his loving siblings, George Collins and Mynetta Januska as well as a small extended family and countless friends.
Visitation with Steven's family will be held on Sunday February 15, 2026, from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main Street. Family and friends will gather on Monday February 16, 2026, beginning at 9:30 A.M. for a 10 A.M. funeral home service immediately followed by committal at Agawam Center Cemetery.
