Mr. Connor was the most influential English teacher I ever had. I was lucky to run into him at church a few years ago to share my appreciation. In a blessed coincidence, I now teach English in Aquinas Hall, where he received his high school education. My sincere condolences to the family.

Steve was a great colleague and an even better friend. He never met a stranger and could start a conversation with anyone, anywhere. I have fond memories of our years of service at Lakewood Schools, our golf rounds, our visits to see Dave, our occasional group breakfasts, and the last time I saw him in person, at his 80th birthday celebration in Columbus. He was so happy surrounded by family and friends. He loved his family, and he loved serving the Lord in many different ways.
I admire Steve´s dedication in service to others: at his church, with the Knights of Columbus, volunteering at the shelter, working as a sponsor for different groups, being available to former students or current friends to offer counsel and advice, and many other ways. I had the privilege to witness some of his many acts of service to others.
I have lost a great friend, and the world is a little less bright.
To Nancy, Craig and Kristina, Jackie, his beloved grandchildren, and his siblings, my heartfelt condolences on this personal loss. May the Lord comfort you during this time.

I feel that Steve was very social because he genuinely liked people. He not only cared about family, friends and students but about everyone. He never met a stranger. Steve will be missed.

I was lucky enough to be one of your students. Your instruction and guidance helped me to hone a skill that I have used my entire adult life. Thank you for being a great teacher.
