Steven Howard Cullman, of Maryville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2024, in Watkins Glen, NY. Born in Willits, CA on May 31, 1952, to Paul and Georgia Cullman, Steven grew up on a ranch outside of Linden, CA, and married Kim McConnon, of Gilroy, CA, in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Kim, and their ten children: Erin Cullman, Heidi Cullman Johnson, Andrea Crosswhite, Travis Cullman, René Garlinghouse, Garret Cullman, Brenna Short, Alyssa Bowman, Lesley Ramesh, and Jenna Cullman. He is also remembered by his fourteen grandchildren: Elias Johnson, Cora Johnson, Violet Johnson, Fiona Johnson, Grayson Crosswhite, Andrew Crosswhite, Natalie Crosswhite, Bryan Cullman, Brynleigh Cullman, Tyler Cullman, Zakai Cullman, Titus Garlinghouse, Henrik Garlinghouse, and Walker Short. Steven also will be missed and remembered by his siblings: Dan Cullman, Candice Cullman and Laurel Lindner along with many nieces and nephews.
Steven was a devoted father, loving husband, and caring grandfather, brother, and friend. He modeled kindness, honesty, and work ethic throughout his careers as a police officer in California and rancher in central Texas. Upon retirement, Steven reconnected with his love of racing and classic cars, specifically American muscle, like the Ford Mustang Boss 302 and Shelby GT350. He graced the winner’s circle many times and won Historic Sportscar Racing’s “Most Improved Driver of the Year” award in 2022. Steven passed away from a heart attack on the racetrack doing what he loved — RACING!
Family and friends gathered on June 19, 2024, at Grandview Pavilion to celebrate Steven’s life and memories before his subsequent burial at Grandview Cemetery, in Maryville, TN.
While we mourn Steven’s passing, we rejoice that he is in the arms of his Savior. While his physical presence may be gone from this earth, his legacy lives on in the memories of his friends as well as the lives and influence of his children and his children’s children.
