It is with profound sorrow and immeasurable grief that we announce the untimely passing of Steven Lee Dennis, who left us far too soon on June 25, 2025, at the age of 45. Steven was tragically taken from us by an act of violence, leaving a void in the lives of all who knew and loved him that can never be filled. Steven's vibrant spirit, his generous nature, and his infectious laugh will forever resonate in the hearts of his beloved family and wide circle of friends. He is survived by the love of his life and partner of 20 years, Casey Renee Roberts; his mother, Karen Anne McDowell (Jack); his father, John "Scott" Dennis; grandmother, Ellen Phillips; sister, Laura Adams (Ron); nieces, Ariel Jean & Alissa; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory and grieve his loss.
Born on October 19th, 1979, Steven spent most of his life in Delaware and Maryland. He worked as a skilled carpenter and construction subcontractor, calling both Salisbury and Cambridge home for periods of time. Wherever Steven lived, he was well-known, well-liked and a tireless worker, known for being kind, intelligent, and able to do just about anything he set out to accomplish. As an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, he eagerly anticipated Sunday afternoon with his best buddies, watching the game, grilling, and cooking up new recipes in the crockpot. Steven's love for food was matched only by his impressive knowledge of football statistics. Steven was always there to lend a hand to friends or family with any repair job, project or vehicle issue, consistently ready to prove he could overcome any obstacle.
Though his life was taken from us under tragic circumstances, the profound impact Steven had on all who knew him will never fade. We will forever cherish the memories of his kindness, his strength, and the indelible mark he left on our lives. The family would also like to thank the good samaritans and first responders who valiantly fought to rescue Steven, and the law enforcement officers working tirelessly to see justice served.
A memorial service to honor Steven's life and mourn his passing will be held at Holloway Funeral Home (Salisbury, MD) on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m.
