Steven was born on May 24, 1959, in Wheeling West Virginia, the son of Ray and Kathryn (Ries) Dodds.
He attended Truman High School class of 1977, and continued his education at Graceland College and CMSU graduating with a Bachelors in Science. Steven joined the Marine Reserves and in 1989 welcomed his son Aaron into the world.
Steven worked in programming at BPS until his retirement.
He had great faith and would spend hours studying scriptures and teaching others the Lord's word in fellowship and mission work.
In 2014 he was honored with the new title as grandpa to Levi. Steven was known to always have sudoku and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. He loved reading and his most recent material had be Patrick O'Brian's "Master and Commander" series. Steven had a love of learning history, but he loved his family and the Lord with all his heart. Steven will be greatly missed.
Steven is survived by his father, Ray Dodds; son, Aaron (Kayla) Dodds; grandson; Levi Dodds; siblings, Brenda Dodds, Jeanne (Robert) King, Charles (Mary) Dodds; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear mother Kathryn in 2015.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 between the hours of 1:00 – 2:00 pm, with funeral service to directly follow at 2:00 pm, both being held at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64050. He will be laid to rest in Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence. Interment will follow service.
