Steven Doty Obituary
70, passed from this life January 15, 2026, in the comfort of his loving family. Steven was born January 28, 1955, in Shelbyville, Illinois to Bernard Doty and Zona Gail Webner Doty. He attended Stewardson-Strasburg High School, in Stewardson, Illinois. Later Steven attended Indiana Wesleyan University, in Marion, Indiana. Steven received the Outstanding Professional Award from Indiana Wesleyan University. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. Steven retired after 42 years of service with Caterpillar. He was a Process Engineer there.
On June 8, 1974, Steven Lee Doty and Marcia Clawson Married in Stewardson, Illinois. In loving memory, Steven is cherished by his beloved wife, Marcia Clawson Doty; daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Daugherty; son, Michael (Tara) Doty; grandchildren, Madelyn (Jacob) Rothenberger, Matthew (Zoey) Daugherty, Mason (Josie) Daugherty, Dylan Doty and girlfriend, Kaitlyn Scott, Dawson Doty and fiancée, Natsuki Hata, Tatum Doty; great grandchild, Lula Jean Daugherty; mother, Zona Doty; brother, Randy (Dawn) Doty. Steven was proceeded in death by his father, Bernard Doty and In-Laws, Don and Pauline Clawson.
Ceremonies to celebrate Steven's life are Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 6pm EST at Soller-Baker Funeral Homes and Crematory-Lafayette Chapel, with visitation from 4pm EST until 6pm EST. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to:

My deepest condolences to the Doty family. Steve was our contact at the Cat facility. He was incredibly kind and a pure delight to work with. He helped our company get through a rough stretch and I am eternally grateful to him for the guidance and wisdom he imparted. He would grace this Canadian with a "N" indicator for deserved quality hits of which we joked about after his retirement. May God bless you during this time of sorrow and comfort you with His peace. Until we see him again.
