The Family
July 15, 2025
He walked where rivers bend and sigh,
Beneath the vast and open sky,
With steady hands and eyes that knew
The joy of earth, the morning dew
With rod in hand or bow held high
He watched the falcon wheel and fly
Through forests deep and mountain air
He found a kind of silence there
A hole-in-one, a perfect game
Not for the glory, not for fame
But for the joy of doing well
Of stories only he could tell
A wordsmith with a gentle grace
He found the rhyme in every place
In puzzles, poems, and games well-played
His quiet wisdom softly stayed
He laughed with ease, with humor bright
A steady flame, a guiding light
To family, he gave his all
The kind to catch you when you fall
Now in the wind, we hear his song
In rustling leaves, he moves along
A life well-lived, a spirit free
In every heart, his legacy
We hold you close within our hearts; and there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again.
