Obituary of Steven D. Grosso

Steven D. Grosso, age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was affectionately known as "the man, the myth, the legend" by his loving family.

Steven was born on January 6, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Donald Gene and Ann Jeanette (Seibert) Grosso. Steven married his high school sweetheart, Sara J. Carver on January 10, 1970. An avid bowler, Steven loved spending time with all the Butterfield Family at Echo Lanes in Morris, where he was also employed for 12 years. Steven was the biggest fan of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Sara; his beloved daughters, Barbie Danielle (Aaron) Bulian and Billie Jo (Greg) Stewart; and his bonus son, Larry Strothman. The lights of his life were his grandson, Steven (Alisha) Stewart and his great-granddaughter, Rylee Jade Stewart. Also survived by one sister-in-law, Eula Mitchell; his aunts, Judy (Smokey) Emanuelson and Sally Brockman; his lifelong friend who he considered his brother, Dennis (Bonnie) Myer; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard E. Mitchell and Alan Mitchell; and his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy (Kevin) Brooks; two long time buddies, Jeff Matthews and Tim Butterfield.

As it was Steven's request, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held at this time.
