Steven R. Hampton, 55, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away suddenly on the night of September 17th, 2025, after a lengthy recovery from an illness he suffered in November of 2023.

He was born on December 7th, 1969, in Warren, Ohio, to Linda Dean Shaw and Marvin Ray Hampton. Steven is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hampton; grandparents, Joyce C. Ward and Lossie Ward (Pendley); and Joe and Meryle Hampton.

He is survived by his mother, Linda D. Shaw; his sister, Tammy Chandler (Robert Chandler); his two children, Christopher R. Hampton (Deanna Hampton (Cozze)) and Jessica L. Hampton; and his beloved grandchildren, Brandon Hampton, Leah Hampton, Noah Gonzalez, Isaiah Gonzalez, Madison Gonzalez, and Brielle Niedermeier. He also leaves behind nephews, Riley Absher, Justin Hampton, and Robert Chandler III, as well as great-nephews, Bayden Hampton and Zylen Hampton.

Steve's children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He adored them all deeply, simply spending time sitting in the living room, asking about their days, or telling stories. He loved reminiscing about his younger days and reminding everyone just how cool he thought he was. His life was marked by love, and the sorrow we feel in his passing is immeasurable. He will be greatly missed by each and every one of us.

Steve also loved riding motorcycles, woodworking, and drawing. He had a true gift for drawing and sketching, often spending countless hours bringing his ideas to life on paper. So many of Steve's passions are shared by his children and grandchildren and will be carried on in remembrance of him.

He also loved music-especially Ozzy Osbourne. We like to think he's rocking out in heaven now, with the volume turned all the way up.

There will be no funeral or formal viewing services. Instead, the family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 208 W. 8th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052
