Condolences to everyone who loved and was loved by Steve. He was a good friend for many years, and was kind and generous to everyone. Although we lost touch for years after I moved to Western Canada, I feel lucky that we finally reconnected a couple of years ago. The world will be a little better place for having him here, and a little sadder without him.

There is so much good that can be said about this sweet, deep, inspirational soul. I'll just say one of the most important., At Astor, he was about only one thing. The kids. 24/7. 100%. What a great legacy.

Such a gentle soul and a wonderful, wonderful uncle. When I was in 4th grade, Uncle Steve, who was very handy, helped me create an invention for a class project. It was a total success, and being a "Homework Corrector" (much like a copy machine, but with answers), solidified my status as Teacher's Pet. It was awesome, and so was Steve. Quiet, funny, and smiley, he made any who sat by him feel welcome. I miss and love you.

Even though Steve and I went our separate ways after high school, I often thought of him with the utmost kindness. Thinking of Steve today, I realize that the kindness and generosity were his, not mine. It is with a heavy heart that I learned of his death today. His humor and kindness rubbed off on all who knew him, and we are far better off having known Steve. My profound condolences to his family.Take pride that he lives on you.
