Steven Lamarr Jones was born August 7, 1969 in Cleveland, OH to Linda Jones and Walter Holmes. Steven was the oldest of nine children. Preceding him in death are his parents; brother Walter Holmes Jr. and sister Lisa Williams.
Steven accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Second Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
Steven was educated in the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from West Technical High School in 1987. After graduating high school Steven worked as a library clerk for over ten years and various jobs in security. He volunteered for ICONS- Youth Advocacy program which promoted violence prevention in the city of Cleveland.
Steven was a pillar in his community. Anytime he was around, everything was known to run smoothly. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke his words were wise and profound. Steven was also known as Big Steve, OG Steve, and Baby Boe Legs. He was a consistent nurturer and assisted those in need, especially his elderly family members and neighbors. Steven would also frequently visit with and make daily calls to check on his loved ones.

ONE THING I´LL ALWAYS REMEMBER ABOUT STEVE IS THE WAY HE TREATED MY GRANDMOTHER... SHE WAS CRAZY ABOUT HIM. HE WOULD ALWAY BRING HER AND HER NEIGHBOR APPLE CART ICE CREAM, HE KEPT HER WITH A 2 LITER PEPSI, AND HE SENT HER TO BINGO OFTEN LOL. HE WAS JUST A GOOD DUDE. I CAN PROUDLY SAY, IT WAS A HONOR TO KNOW HIM
