Steven Dax King

Steven Dax King, age 23, of Independence, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026. He was born on December 23, 2002, in Florence, Kentucky, to Chadwick D. King and Taryn R. Romohr.

Dax was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Tanya M. Strickley. He is survived by his loving parents, his father, Chadwick D. (Laura) King, and his mother, Taryn R. (Perry) Romohr. He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Grayson T. King, Charley C. Romohr, and Londyn M. King. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, William P. Strickley, paternal grandfather, Steve R. King, paternal grandmother, Cindy H. King, step-paternal grandfather, Tom Fischer, step-paternal grandmother Nan Fischer and his maternal step-grandmothers, Betty C. Romohr and Vicki A. Strickley, along with many other family members and friends.

Dax had a passion for cars and music. He enjoyed creating models of all types and loved playing video games. He took great pleasure in attending car shows and cherished his two dogs, Derby and Tawny, as well as all animals. Most importantly, he loved his family deeply, especially his brother and sisters.

We will miss his amazing laughter and beautiful smile. Dax was a kind, compassionate, and loving young man, who cared deeply for the people in his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Turn Event Venue, 913 Monmouth St. Newport, KY 41071, Thursday February 5, 2026 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
