Obituary of Steven Allan Kohen
Mr. Steven Allan Kohen, age 80, passed away Monday morning, June 23, at his home in Englewood, Colorado, following complications due to metastatic prostate cancer.
Steve is survived and missed by his son Casey, his brothers Shelly and Ron, his niece Kathy, and his ex-wife Cherie. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and moved to Denver in early childhood. Steve ventured to California for a few years in his 20s, where he lived a fast-paced, adventurous life racing cars and sailing. After moving back to Denver and meeting his wife of over 30 years, Cherie, he eventually settled in Englewood, Colorado, where they raised their son. Steve learned the custom home business from his father, Julius, eventually starting his own company, Kohen Custom Homes Inc. Steve became a well-known and highly lauded builder in the Denver-Metro area. He later partnered with Dr. Bob Neider with whom he enjoyed many years of continued success in the industry.
Steve derived immense joy participating in sports, playing in local softball leagues well into his 70s, and other energetic activities with a few close friends and, most of all, his son. Steve's infectious, often irreverent, sense of humor and ability to easily make those around him laugh will be greatly missed.
Services for Steve will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society (phone: 1-800-227-2345, online: https://www.cancer.org/donate/memorial-giving.html), or charity of your choice.
