Steven Brian Lewis
Steven Brian Lewis age 57, of Buckhannon, WV, flew away home to rest high on the mountain on Thursday, August 17, 2023, in the comfort of his sister's home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 8, 1966, in Upshur County, a son of the late Donnal and Martha Burr Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Lewis. On October 20, 2007, he married the love of his life Rebecca Ann Slaughter Lewis. Together they shared 16 wonderful years of unconditional and unwavering love. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Steven Brian Lewis, II, Caleb Lee Lewis and wife Candy and Samantha Dawn Hollen; four grandchildren, Elisha, Lily, Lyla and Allison Lewis; two brothers, Donnie Lewis and Chad Lewis and wife Bridgette; five sisters, Marcia Bourgeois and husband Kenney, Kim Cogar and husband Donald, Michelle Welcher and husband Chad, Sheila Sines and husband Ray and Tammy Cox and husband Brian and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lewis was a Christian by faith. Steven was known for his straightforward, humorous, fun loving nature and beautiful voice. Papaw Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. The family wants to give a special thank you to WV Hospice, Jennifer, Shawna and Jack. A funeral service will be held 4 PM Monday, August 21, 2023, at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. A burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
