Steven W. McCarthy

Steven William McCarthy of O' Fallon, MO (originally of Jennings, MO) passed away Wednesday, March 4th 2026 at the age of 58.

Steve was a fun-loving person with a truly contagious laugh. He had a love of playing the guitar and writing his own songs. His great taste in music and positive outlook on life will live on through his children and those who knew him. In his youngers years, he spent his days skateboarding around Jennings, was very much a free spirit. The last 30 years he had been employed at the City of St. Peters & had just recently retired! If you were ever curious what Steve was like, just have a conversation with one of his children. They each embody the amazing qualities of his personality. He was truly an American classic, that was guided by his heart.

Steve was a hardworking and dedicated man who took pride in everything he did. One of his greatest joys in life was being a grandpa, and his grandchildren adored him. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him, leaving a lasting void in the hearts of his family and friends.

He was the loving husband of Cindy Snider-McCarthy & Dad to children; Matthew McCarthy (Elizaveta Teplova McCarthy), Heather McCarthy-Foster (Alec Tidwell), Jessica McCarthy (Darren Boschert) & Melba Woodson (Anthony Woodson), Summer Webb & Keith Jackson. Grandpa to; Alex, Lily, Noah, Benson, Audrey.

Dear brother to Tina (Mike) Purcell & Phillip Dickmeyer. Son to Anita (Michael) Shelby. Wonderful Uncle to Amy, Rachel, Christopher, Andrew & multiple great nieces & nephews.

He is proceeded in death by; Father- George McCarthy, Grandmother- Evelyn Hale, Grandpa- Willard Hale, Mother in Law -Melba Snider, Father in Law -Jerry Snider, Son in Law- Ernie Foster.
