Steven McDonald Obituary
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Howellsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. McDonald was born August 12, 1981, in Front Royal, son of Michael L. and Margaret Thompson McDonald of Front Royal. He was employed with Lewis Tree Company. He loved his family and was a dedicated husband and father.
Surviving with his parents are his wife Mallory T. McDonald; three children Madison, Abigail, and Kolten McDonald all at home; a brother Michael L. McDonald, Jr. of Front Royal; two sisters Sarah and Morgan McDonald both of Front Royal; his grandfather James Thompson of Front Royal; his wife's parents Denise Johnson of Front Royal and Michael Cubbage of Remington; his wife's brother and sister Matthew Cubbage and Elizabeth Johnson both of Front Royal; and his wife's grandparents James and Patricia Cubbage of Remington and Verna Ketcherside of Staunton.
Pallbearers will be Jason Costello, Richard Costello, III, Jeffery Costello, Robert Atkins, Daniel Burke, and Samuel Reel.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Steven W. McDonald Memorial Fund c/o Mallory T. McDonald, 719 Stockton Rd., Front Royal, VA 22630.

I miss you man. You are never far away because I don't know why but you always come in to my mi nd on early morning rides. We grew up together and I tell tall tales of what we did back in the day. If you ever needed to laugh and Steven couldn't get you to smile we knew something was wrong. He would say things that you would think in your head but never say out loud . Steven just would blurted it out. He was genuine always the same to me or anyone he was talking to. I didn't know because we were kids how unique that characteristic was. We were alike in many ways and we would get mad at each other and fight. Without a doubt I know of three fist fights we had and then we would get on the bus an argue about who won. I sound old now. The good die Young and your the proof of that brother.. I can't wait to see you and I know you are OK but could you please get out of my head or I will need to start charging you rent

I miss you so much Steve we all do Christimas will never be the same at our moms house....you were a wonderful and loving husband and a amazing father, the kids tell me all the time everybody is having a really hard time with this we miss you so much we are trying our best to deal with this but its hard with no answers, no time to process all this it just happened! rest in peace steve and dont worry about mal and the kids we are showering thewm with love just like you used too!!! GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!
P.S. Lisa is trying to learn the donald duck thing...lol i told her she cant do it like you tho...luv ya!!!

Mallory and Family,
We only got to speak a few times at Beth Car but were blessed in having your family there. Please know that we continue to pray for you and your family. Steven may be gone physcially and yes,that is the hardest part. But know he is watching over you and the children with every passing moment. May you find comfort and peace within God. Steve was a good friend of mine for a long time. We road the bus together in the 2nd grade. He was one of the hardest workers I have ever seen in my life. I knew Steven from high school and on occasion would see him around the local area. He was such a great person, always made people laugh and was there when you needed someone to talk to. There is no doubt in my mind he was a great father, husband and person- my prayers are with his family, children and friends. He will be greatly missed but I know will be watching from above.

I have known mallory for years, as we went to school together. i have known Steve for almost 5 years now. He was a LOVING AND CARING FATHER TO HIS WIFE AND HIS CHILDREN and that will NEVER change! I am so shocked and still shocked that this even happened. Steve, I know that you will be watching over your family and your children and protect them and one day we will all meet again.
