Steven Leslie Meisten, 72, of Brodheadsville, passed away on Saturday, October 26, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center, Macungie, PA.
Born in Hackensack, NJ, he was the loving son of the late Randolph Meisten and the late Dorothy (Vandermass) Meisten.
Steven was a factor worker for M&M Mars in Hackettstown, NJ, for many years. He was a Vietnam War US Army Veteran, and a volunteer firefighter for Hackettstown Fire Company for many years. Steven was also a die-hard fan of the New York Yankees. Most of all, he was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.
He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Sue "Ginger" Sutter and her husband Doug of Brodheadsville; a son, Justin Meisten and his wife Emily of Eagleville; a sister, Diane Manno and her husband James of Hackettstown, NJ; a brother, Charles Meisten and his wife Tina of Phillipsburg, NJ; four grandchildren, Stella, Matthew, Owen, Brayden; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Randolph Meisten, and his best-friend of many years, Susan Foster.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 11:00 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VALOR, P.O. Box 315 Brodheadsville, PA 18322.

A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today. Steven, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
