Steven O'Neal

GARWOOD- Steven Keith O'Neal, 64, of Garwood, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026. Born March 5, 1962, in Mullens, he was the son of the late Carl Robert O'Neal and Donna Sue Dotson.

Steven was just like any other classic dad. He loved football. The Steelers were his absolute favorite. He loved to go fishing and had quite the collection of fishing poles. He loved spending time with his children. He and his son always had gaming nights at least twice a week. There were always pizza parties on everyone's birthday. He also loved watching cute videos of cats and dogs. His sudden loss has all been very difficult to process, and we will continue to hurt as these little moments are gone. He loved spending time with his children, especially the family get-togethers and horseshoe competitions.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and partner of 44 years, Brenda Jenkins O'Neal; and sister, Tammy Mills.

His survivors include his children, Stevie O'Neal of Egeria, Daniel O'Neal and wife Cassondra of Garwood, Crystal O'Neal of Garwood, and Amie Hylton of Garwood; grandson, Gavin O'Neal; brother, Bobby O'Neal; niece, Beth Hall; nephew, Ian O'Neal and his children.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Garwood Church of God in Garwood with Pastor Ricky Shrewsbury. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will follow at a later date at the Jenkins Family Cemetery in Matoaka.
