Steven Oliver Gryboski, of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on January 11th, 2026. He was 83 years old.
Steve had an abundant curiosity and loved sharing what he learned. He enjoyed history, deep sea fishing, and watching the Patriots, but mostly Steve enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren whom he loved so very much.
Steve told the funniest stories, made friends with everyone he met and could talk their ears off if they let him. He loved sharing the interesting facts and discoveries he learned and would often write them down on 3x5 index cards so that he wouldn’t forget. Often his family would come home to family dinners and notice the index cards sitting on his plate ready to be shared with everyone.
He was the long loving companion to Donna Scola for the last 46 years. Steve also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Gryboski and wife Joan of NY, Kathleen Galietta and husband Joe of AZ, and Lorraine Miller of NY.
Steve is the father to Steve Gryboski and wife Laura of Belview, FL, Dawn Adrian and husband Matthew of Melrose, Laura Egitto and husband John of Stoneham, and Christine Chiofilo-Bishop of Stoneham.
He was the loving “Poppie” to Ashley, Arianna, Nicolette, Hunter, Joseph, Gianna, Kayla Marie, Paul, Brett, and Aaron and pre-deceased by Stevie, Jr. Great grandfather to Angelina, Raeyleene, and Maureene. He was best fur-Poppie to Bruno and Bella-bean. He was loving Uncle Stevie to so many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much and will be sorely missed by everyone.
