Steven Lee Powell, 51, of Nelsonville, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Steve was born on July 10, 1974, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Donald Powell and Cathy (Milliron) Mowery. He was married to Carrie (Humphrey) Powell who survives.
Steve loved to be outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and kayaking. He also loved Friday night football, cheering on the Nelsonville York Buckeyes.
Steve is survived by his wife, Carrie; son, Ashton Hunter Powell (Katlyn Jenkins) of Glouster and Cody Tipton of Logan; grandchildren, Sofia Davis, Karedane Losey, Giddeon Winters Tipton, and Calliope Jo Tipton; sister, Heather (Jeff) Winchell of Rockbridge and their children, Rilee and Parker Winchell; and grandmother, June Milliron.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are with the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
