Botch is part of my earliest memories as a child as he was my Dad, Mark´s, best friend. Although they lost touch over the years, they held each other close in their hearts. When my Dad passed away in 2003, Botch reached out to me and continued to support me with love and kindness during the saddest, hardest time of my life. I will be forever grateful for him and Susan for that. I am sending love and light to Susan and all of his family. He will continue to watch over you and know he is reunited with friends that embraced him with love.

Steven possessed a great enjoyment of life, whether it be running down the beach, finding new bands, creating new blues, and rock riffs, camping or hike with the kids

Above all, he loved his family and his friends so dearly.

His children and all their little ones and his his brothers and sister children meant so much to him. When he was well and they got together, those kids have so many fun stories to tell... Music,. beach, sailing and picking corn

His friends! Are and were solid and honest people who never left his side good times and bad times ...he has friends that he's had for 60 years stand by him throughout all his illnesses.

After a motorcycle accident when he was 15 years old He'd lost his ability to breathe and swallow and eat without assistance, somehow he recovered , not fully. ... he couldn't sing the way he used to. He couldn't talk the way he used to. He couldn't swallow the way he used to, but he kept trudging on accepting every new treatment every new surgery for 58 years

Steve,
We all thought that your tenacity was going to keep you alive forever

Now you don't have to worry about anything because you're with your loved ones and you are cutting up a rug wotj Victor Mark and Carl and many other people
I'm sure you've already joined their band you're singing like the angels

Goodbye my best friend
I held you until you died and now I'll meet you at the other side

Botch and I met briefly with his wonderful wife when they drove through New Mexico. He reached out to me because my Father Mark McHale and him had a band together. They were close friends and it warms my heart knowing that he was thinking of me and my family regularly. That warmth is also met with sadness as the world has lost more color and sound now that Botch is finally resting. My condolences to the family.

I´ll be practicing more guitar in the Silver Dollar Smile´s honor!
