With heavy heart the family of Steven “Steve” Talley Reaux announces his sudden passing on Friday morning, March 7, 2025. He was 68.
Steve was born on December 30, 1956 in Opelousas to the late Charles and Mary Talley Reaux.
He attended and graduated from Port Barre High School, attained level of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He also attended LSUE and obtained a two-year degree in accounting while serving as editor of the school newspaper. Over the next four decades, Steve acquired knowledge and skills in several different aspects of construction, carpentry, electrical air conditioning and cabinet making. He briefly worked in the oil field, was employed at an aquaculture facility using his knowledge of carpentry for employers and friends. Steve had many friends, who will miss him as much as his family will
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, Jonathan C. Reaux and wife, Carmen of Eunice; brother, Norbert Reaux and wife, Helen of Baton Rouge; grandson, Jonathan Wayne Reaux and one on the way; nieces, Allison Andrus, Caryn Fulop, Lisa Cormier, Megan Reaux, Jillian Reaux and Kathryn Reaux; nephew, Blaine Reaux as well as extended family and many dear friends. It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pauline Reaux Fulop; brothers, Charles S. Reaux and Ned L. Reaux.
