Steven L. Reimers

Steven L. Reimers, age 73, of DeMotte, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Steve was born on January 17, 1951, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Duane and Violet (Guadian) Reimers.
Steve graduated from Sutherland Community School with the Class of 1969 and served his country in the United States Air Force. Known by his CB call sign, Fuzzy, Steve dedicated 40 years to life on the road as a truck driver, retiring from Hill Concrete in 2008. Even in retirement, his love for the road continued as he helped move cars for Snyder's and Schultz Auto.
In November of 1985, Steve married Alice M. Witvoet (Hillegonds), and together they built a loving life that spanned 40 cherished years. Steve was a devoted member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon, elder, and member of the praise team. His days were often brightened by coffee gatherings with local friends and fishing trips with his truck-driving buddies.
Steve's memory will live on through his loving wife, Alice; his children, Lisa (Brian) DeBoer of Munster, IN, Rob (Jodie) Witvoet of Wheatfield, IN, and Ed (Julie) Witvoet of DeMotte, IN; his 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Lori (Bob) Giese; two nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Violet Reimers.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Steve's life on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jeremy Oosterhouse. Private family burial will follow.
Steve's kindness, faith, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Neighbor Food Pantry or Bethel Church Lift Fund.
