Steven "Frank" Scheer, 64, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away after a long illness on Friday, July 18, 2025. He worked for Boeing/Spirit AeroSystems for 35 years. He loved following his nieces and nephews during their athletic careers. He was an avid golfer and loved playing with his family and friends. Frank also loved Rock and Roll music and attended as many concerts in the Wichita area as he could (he didn't miss many). He was also a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Oakland Raiders and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Scheer. Survivors include his mother, Rita (Metzen) Scheer; brothers, Mark "Marv" Scheer, Alan "Eddie" Scheer (Rachelle), Rodney "Rowdie" Scheer (Deb); nephews and nieces, Jenna McDonald (Thomas), Jacie Dorsett (John), Ross Scheer (Amy), Dillon Scheer (Meagan), Gage Scheer (Chelsea), Payton Compton (Eric), Trent Scheer (Kara) and Kylee Scheer; six great nephews and five great nieces.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Monday, July 21, 2025, Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, both at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Interment to follow after the service at St. Anthony Cemetery, Garden Plain, Kansas.
A memorial has been established with: Cheney Golden Age Home, P.O. Box 370, 724 N. Main Street, Cheney, Kansas 67025.
