Steven Alan Staggs,71, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 in Bloomington. Born October 30, 1953, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Harvey Staggs and Esther (Jones) Staggs.
Steven was a graduate of the Fayetteville High School, where he played basketball. He worked for IUPUI EMS and the Dunn Hospital Ambulance service. He was in management for procurement at IUPUI for 37 years. Steven was a US Army Veteran, attaining the rank of SPC/E-4. He served from 1973 – 1976, and was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky at the time of his discharge.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Steven is one son, Stephen Staggs; two daughters, Katelyn Staggs and Audrey Staggs; grandchildren, Bree, Callie, Evalyn, Matthew, Gracelynn, and Zaniah; one brother, Robert (Donna) Staggs; one sister, Nadra Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Steven in death are his parents, Harvey Staggs and Esther (Jones) Staggs; one brother, Johnny Staggs; two sisters, Brenda Brock and Joyce Blubaugh.
Services for Steven are private. Burial will be in Mundell Cemetery in Lawrence County, Indiana.
The care and arrangements for Steven have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
