Steven "Steve" Vaughn Johnson age 56, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was born on September 7, 1969, in Cumberland, Wisconsin to Albert and Kathleen (Vaughn) Johnson. He attended and graduated from Cumberland High School. After graduation he attended the University of Wisconsin-Barron County and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and obtained a degree in broad area agriculture with minors in animal and food science.

Steve's career path led him to work for the award-winning Lake County Dairy where many more awards and achievements were accomplished during his time there. Steve enjoyed spending his free time, fishing, kayaking, playing pool and loved to socialize. Steve took great pride in his relationships with others and surrounding himself with loving people. Steve loved hard and laughed often.

Steve is survived by his children, Bethany and Lucas "Luke" Johnson, his life partner, Brook and her children, Izzy and Leah Johnson; a brother, Scott (Colleen); sister, Melissa (Brian) Pinkerton as well as many extended family members & close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Kathleen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Kilcoyne Memorial Services, 637 N. Main Street Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 3 - 5 PM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be provided for those attending. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
