Steven Glenn Tripp of Rocky Mount, NC passed away peacefully at his home on August 16, 2024. He was born on December 13,1963 in Tarboro, NC.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Tripp; grandparents, Linwood and Maidline Dorman; great aunts, Nina Belle McLawhorn and Mabel Clara McLawhorn; and cousin, Susan Dorman.
Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly Ann Tripp; son, Steven Craig and wife Amanda Tripp of Rocky Mount, NC; his mother, Frances Tripp; sister, Donna and husband Ronnie Crisp of Tarboro, NC; aunt and uncle, RL and Penny Dorman; cousin, Dave Dorman of San Jose, CA; and his beloved puppies, Otis Earl and Judy Pearl and cat, Sam along with a host of special nieces and nephews.
Steve had a passion for cars and racing starting as a young boy. He enjoyed a career with Ford Motor Company for 15 years. Steve went on to open his own business "Tripp's Automotive" in 1997. For the next 27 years Tripp's Automotive has become not just a place to have your vehicle worked on but a social gathering for many of his friends in the community. You could always count on hearing a good joke or two when stopping by and maybe a little politicking. Steve's love of a good joke, racing and golf were only some of his hobbies over the years. The things his family and friends will remember most about him was his love of fishing and boating, also the love he put into cooking for family gatherings, while making us all watch Hallmark movies, even in July. He was an avid music lover that could name most any tune, especially Jimmy Buffett. Also playing "Santa" for years, for all his special nieces, nephews and Shrine kids was one of his favorite moments in life.
Steve had a servant's heart that led him to 22 years as a Mason and Shriner. Steve was Past Master of Corinthian Lodge #230. He also served as President of their Masonic Corporation. He was Past President of the Rocky Mount Shrine and current Captain of the Sudan Prowlers Parade Unit.
Steve was such a well-liked and respected member of the automotive community. He was currently serving as President of the Nash/Edgecombe chapter of the Independent Garage Owners association.
He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on August 24, 2024 at Rocky Mount Shrine Club 320 Airport Rd. Rocky Mount, N.C. 27804, visitation 2:00pm – 3:45pm, memorial service 4:00pm
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point, Tampa, Fl. 33607, www.donate.lovetotherescue.org in memory of Steve Tripp.

I've been delivering parts to Steve for 10 years. Feels like losing a family member. He was always joking and cutting up. I'm at a loss for words my heart goes at to his family. I'll miss walking in that shop door hearing his crazy jokes. A few weeks back we laughed about him loving to watch the videos of the fainting goats. Steve you wil be miss by many. Sending prayers to all the family and friends.
